Getting your day started off right with the best coffee in Tamarindo is an important step to another great day.
Whether you are up and at ’em and ready to hit the surf, or taking it slow after yet another late night in this notorious party town, you’re going to need a great cup of coffee in Tamarindo to get started.
Part of every trip to Costa Rica, whether you are a surfer or not, is knowing you are heading to one of the best coffee growing regions in the world.

Costa Rican Coffee, Roasted Fresh, Delivered to You
Twin Fin Coffee delivers fresh roasted Costa Rican coffee right to your door.
Our Pavones single-origin coffee is a bright, medium roast that can be enjoyed as espresso, drip or your favorite pour-over.
That being said, it wasn’t all that long ago that most of Costa Rica’s amazing coffee headed out of the country.
However, while still an important export to the country, amazing coffee is expected and can be found all around the country, and Tamarindo is no exception.
Whether you are planning a family surf trip, short solo mission, or anything in between, when it comes to coffee Tamarindo won’t let you down.
Here are some of our favorites when you are looking to get your day started with some of the best coffee in Tamarindo.
Best Coffee In Tamarindo
Tamarindo Coffee Roasters

Tamarindo Coffee Roasters is an amazing place to grab some coffee during your stay in Costa Rica.
Their well thought out selection and delicious roasts make it a great place to grab a quick espresso. However, since Tamarindo Coffee Roasters is a little bit outside of town, it might not be the most convenient spot for grabbing an early coffee before your surf without jumping in a car.
That being said, if you are staying in Tamarindo and have a kitchen and expect to brew up your own coffee in the morning, stopping by Tamarindo Coffee Roasters and grabbing some beans on your way into town is a great idea.
Although you’ll be brewing it yourself, you’ll still be having some of the best coffee in Tamarindo.
Nordico Coffee House
Nordico Coffee House is located right in central Tamarindo so is often a great, and convenient place to stop and grab that morning brew or afternoon espresso.
There are plenty of other items on the full menu as well including teas, smoothies, milkshakes and great acai bowls (and much more).
While the patio is a great gathering spot, it does look over the parking lot and street. If you’re looking for beachfront and a view of the ocean while sipping on your cappuccino, then other places might better suit your needs.
Dawn Patrol Coffee and Bakery
If great coffee with an amazing view is what you are looking for while you’re in Tamarindo, then Dawn Patrol Coffee and Bakery is the place for you.
Update: A comment on TripAdvisor says Dawn Patrol Coffee and Bakery may have moved and couldn’t be found. Next time I’m in Tamarindo I’ll try to figure out what happened.
